Ques 11 What subjects does the AMCAT cover?

Answer  AMCAT is a multi-dimensional test with the Aptitude (consisting of English, Quantitative Ability and Logical Ability) & personality test sections being compulsory and additional skill-specific module which is required for jobs in different sectors. The skill specific modules vary from Computer Programming, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Accounts, Marketing, Human Resources, Financial Services, etc. The candidate can choose the skill modules based on his/her education and/or interest.

         

Ques 12 AMCAT is an adaptive test, what does that mean?

Answer  An adaptive test gets harder and easier based on the answer given to the previous question. If you answer a question correct, you get a tougher question and if you answer a question wrong the next question becomes easier.

        This allows the test to measure the exact ability of the test taker in the subject being tested. The score of the candidate depends on the level of questions he or she attempt correctly.

          The candidate should attempt every question with complete sincerity, to ensure that he or she scores well.

       

Ques 13 What is the AMCAT ID?

Answer  AMCAT ID is a [14] digit unique ID generated when a candidate appears for the AMCAT. It is generated during the test taking process and is given to the candidate. The candidate should keep the AMCAT ID safely as it acts as a future reference for test scores, job interviews and offers.

         

Ques 14 At what score will I get a job opportunity?

Answer  Apart from the "right" scores, at a given point of time, job opportunity depend on a variety of factors which include:

          1. Which company is hiring at that time

          2. Which area/region that company is hiring

          3. Specific qualification/eligibility of the company currently hiring

Ques 14 What is a good score in AMCAT?

Answer  Different industries/companies have different criteria on different sections of the test. While some companies look for high scores in some areas, others might choose a different score. Hence there is no ONE good score. The section "Job Match" in the feedback report informs a candidate about his or her chances for getting selected in companies of different sectors and the subjects to improve on, in order to get into the sector of his or her choice. Generally a score between 500-550 is considered good and is seen to be accepted by many organisations as well.

Ques 24 What if we are not interested in the profile/job you offer?

Answer  On basis of AMCAT Score, students get multiple opportunities. You may reject the offer and await for the next opportunity.

Ques 26 Will there be any written Test after AMCAT?

Answer  Companies shortlist on basis of AMCAT Scores and will invite you for the direct interview. In rare cases, if the company would like to judge you on a certain aspect they may conduct a test before the interview but Aptitude test will not be re-conducted.
